We are experts in helping your company to improve productivity, without unnecessary expenditure. It's all about making the most of what you've already got and making it work more efficiently. We will normally begin with a benchmarking activity to identify where processes can be improved or if you are already some way on the improvement journey and need to address a specific issue we can draw upon our expertise and a number of tools and services to get you on the right track.
We can:
Public Sector
We have helped North Wales Police to make considerable savings across the back office functions to help deliver a 25% cut in Government funding over a four year period. Within the Finance department, we reviewed the top processes, one of which was procurement to payment. Under this a new method to control the top thirty suppliers was drawn up and implemented. This resulted in a 57% reduction in invoices and the attendant processing costs.
Within the housing sector we worked together with a project team at Wirral Partnership Homes to reduce the re-let time for Voids. The result was a 55% cost reduction, generating a 6 figure cash benefit to the organisation. This not only improved the association's published performance and improved cost-effectiveness but it also meant that they were able to offer a better quality of service to their customers.
Manufacturing
Sometimes changes to the way things have always been done can make a phenomenal impact on results. This was the case at Jotun who saw a 7 figure improvement in sales turnover as a result of a change management programme. The application of lean thinking led to the design and implementation of a new filling line layout. This increased filling line throughput by over 30% and enabled Jotun to take on an increased workload, which had previously been denied due to lack of capacity.
Process Industries
Delivering more with less entails improving overall efficiency and minimising or eradicating waste in all its forms. Although top level waste figures were well understood by Innovia Films, a lack of detailed waste information at a shop floor level meant that significant opportunities for improvement were missed. Our practitioners helped the company with detailed data analysis to identify specific issues contributing to poor yields. Standard Operating Procedures and machine settings that minimised waste in key areas were then developed. The result was a reduction in factory wide material waste of 23%, from a total annual waste bill in excess of seven figures.
